Both of them met back in 1999 while they were still in highschool. After graduating, they both went to the fashion school ESMOD and in 2004 presented their creations at the festival de Hyeres.
Following their sucess, this brand quickly learnt to developp its collections and with the help of the French Federation of Haute Couture, Dévastée was part of the In fashion shows opening for the Paris Fashion Week.
In terms of inspirations, the designers only focus on their feelings, on their sensations. While Ophelia works on the cut and shapes of the collections, François deals and creates the drawing and the graphic world with various prints, the jacquards... Their collections are composed of black and white fashion items and we also find as a recurrent topic, death.
Inspired by a "plethora of little sad things", Dévastée thrive and grow in a cheerful, psychedelic and gloomy festival. Their world is morose yet kindly quirky, their silhouette gothic and chic, moking death and keen on dark humor.
Their collections are driven by a multitude of pictures as joyful as incomprehensible in which cemeteries become a lightweight model, where a watering asserts his convictions about life, and oaks meet an anarchist bench.
