Asics' Gel-Kayano 14 running shoe is back with a late-2000s look, directly inspired by the brand's iconic Gel-Kayano series. Featuring modern materials and components that enhance the shoe's technical performance, it is the first to have been designed by someone other than Toshikazu Kayano. The shoe's cushioning uses the same GEL technology as the original midsole, and the upper retains its 2008 leather and mesh overlays for a perfect fit.

In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka started his sports shoe business (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes in his living room in Kobe, Japan.
