Becksondergaard was founded in 2003 by Lis Beck and Anna Sondergaard. Driven by their passion for fashion and with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, but without any experience in the industry, they decided to create a brand of accessories offering simple but timeless designs, with an original look that could well last for more than a season.

Becksondergaard's first collection was a small selection of colourful, handcrafted accessories made from real eel leather - a high quality leather that is still very little known to this day. They started by knocking on the doors of Copenhagen's biggest retailers and Becksondergaard was quickly established as an innovative brand in Scandinavian fashion.
The brand was especially known for its "Granny" bag, a simple and feminine eelskin handbag with a snap lock closure reminiscent of our grandmothers' purses. This object is today an icon and still a best seller in the Becksondergaard collection.

The design is unmistakably Scandinavian with an original personal touch that can be seen in the choice of colours, details, handmade patterns and original prints.
Present on the entire line of bags and scarves, they have become the brand's signature.
