Quickly popular, customers were ordering Barbour clothing from South Africa or Hong Kong. The business is family owned, and the founder's son will take over the business after his father's death. Barbour is still owned by the same family today, it is the 5th generation. After its casual-chic outerwear, Barbour became known in the 1930s for its equipment for bikers.
