About Soubacq
In the spring of 2020, Louise Drouhet launched the Soubacq brand in honor of a young girl from a good family, Mademoiselle Soubacq, who fell in love with a handsome worker in 1904, and thus discovered a new world. A world in blue overalls that she made her own, adjusting, darning, taking care of this workers' uniform. Mademoiselle Soubacq ends up making it her own by embroidering her name on it. The blue work shirt, memory of the working world is a timeless of the work of Men. The history of a common outfit for all workers and tinted with the same blue originates from the constructivist movement initiated by Russian artists from 1917. At the same time, in France, textile mills were inspired by sailors' coats and farmers' blouses and industrialized an ancestral know-how to design a uniform work outfit for workers. Soubacq has made this blue suit a companion for happy days and moments of freedom, free from the markers of land exploitation and gender, the Soubacq Blue enters the era of return to the essential and responsible fashion. The brand makes it a unique piece by revalorizing the scraps of haute couture fabrics. To guarantee a local approach, each Bleu is made in their Parisian workshop. Each Bleu is made in Paris in their Arts-et-Métiers workshop from fabrics forgotten by the major fashion houses. This responsible processing makes each piece a limited edition, numbered on a square of hemp.
