It all starts with Emily Ewell, an engineer and chemist, based in Brazil, who wanted to use her knowledge of the lingerie industry and materials to create a committed underwear brand.

Pantys wants to revolutionize the world of menstruation by making it more attractive, more visual and to make sure that all women can talk about this natural phenomenon without any shame. Creating a discourse around menstruation means allowing millions of women to feel better about their bodies and to reclaim this topic.

Menstrual panties, a nice alternative to conventional pads
Menstrual panties still pose some questions among menstruating people, who wonder if the product can really replace conventional sanitary pads.
Pantys' panties have been designed with patented technology, which provides complete protection at any time during the cycle. Each panty has three layered microfiber fabrics, each with different absorption capabilities and properties. The first layer of fabric absorbs deeply and removes the majority of bacteria. The second layer has waterproofing properties. Finally, the third layer keeps the product dry for optimal comfort. The seams of the panties are also thought to avoid leakage and ensure to retain all the flow inside the product.
This innovation fits all designs, but depending on the indentation of the panties, they can also be adapted to the type of flow and the period of the cycle. For example, for a very light flow or for the end of the period, one can take out their menstrual thong without worrying about anything.
Pantys products are also clinically tested, ensuring intimate hygiene compliance. The PH, temperature, and bacteria and odor removal of the panties ensure a healthier menstrual cycle. The underwear are all OEKO-TEX certified, ensuring a product free of chemicals that are harmful to humans or the environment.
Pantys promotes the wearing of menstrual panties especially because they are a more environmentally friendly alternative to disposable sanitary products. With menstrual panties, a menstruating person significantly reduces their use of single-use plastic.

A strong social commitment
The taboo of menstruation fosters disparities between men and women in every country. Today, two million women are affected by menstrual precariousness, which sometimes prevents them from attending school or work during their cycle and exacerbates these gender disparities. Not only does Pantys want to remove the taboo of menstruation, but also offer a more serene menstrual cycle, to give menstruating people the same opportunities.
Certified B Corp, Pantys is constantly mobilizing to amplify the voices of menstruating people and fight against these inequalities.
Among their many mobilizations, Pantys is hosting an online event on May 28, which is World Intimate Hygiene Day. They give women a voice on social media and make donations to various associations to which it commits beforehand.
Throughout the year, they act in concert with about twenty associations. In France, it is notably with the association Règle Élémentaire that Pantys was able to organize donations of sanitary pads in 2021.
Finally, Pantys is committed to including all communities. The brand is committed to showcasing women regardless of their ethnicity, size, age or skin color.
They also act to include the transgender community, and recently completed a partnership with a community of transgender men by offering a menstrual, less feminized boxer.
Pantys adapts to all styles and is not afraid to enter the genderless trend, they wish to promote both sexy lingerie but also more comfortable according to ages and desires.
Eco-design, a priority
To reduce its environmental impact, Pantys is looking for ever more innovative materials. The panties are made of modal, a 100% natural material derived from beech bark, which has ultra-absorbent and antiseptic capabilities. It is also made of about 85% biodegradable polyamide (Amni Soul Eco® yarn), which biodegrades faster than conventional polyamide and emits less CO2. Finally, it uses about 10% elastane, a synthetic fiber that ensures the elasticity of the underwear.
Pantys is dedicated to minimizing its emissions. To do this, the brand analyzes the life cycle of its products, and quantifies each stage of that cycle in CO2 emissions. They represent the emissions specific to each product on a label located on the back of the packaging.

Environmental label Pantys
For Pantys, it is above all a desire for transparency towards the consumer, whom it believes is worthy of receiving this information.
To reduce their ecological footprint, Pantys is working on numerous projects, mostly in Brazil. They act for a regeneration of the Amazonian Forest, work on the reduction of the methane rate (a gas participating in the greenhouse effect) in the Brazilian landfills, and promote renewable energies, especially the wind fields in the north of Brazil.
