About Barker Shoes

Barker, it is the story of an heritage. That of Arthur Barker, craftsman and boots manufacturer, who created in 1880 his shoe factory in Earls Barton, in the Northamptonshire.

His reputation is built around the high quality soles of his shoes, which were waterproof and allows him to obtain contracts to equip the English army during the 1st World War.

The company boomed rapidly in the interwar period and continued to grow with the construction of a new factory in Earls Barton in 1947 to produce a new line of women's shoes.

Today, more than a century after the creation of the company, tradition is still respected. The company is still based in Earls Barton and manufactures quality English shoes, with noble materials and design as elegant as timeless.
