About Antik Batik
Gabriella Cortes, true globetrotter, founded Antik Batik in 1992. Italian from origin, she learned embroidery from her grandmother and will remain eternally fascinated by the natural elegance of her mother. She arrived in Paris in her eighteen as a student and then went to Tibet on the Silk Road, then to Bali where she discovered Batik: a silk printing technique, with stencils. It is from this ancient technique that she draws her ethnic inspiration which she enriches with her travels on five continents.
True explosion of colours, collections evoke the bohemian elegance of the late 60. Her inspirations are still evolving around art and invite us to a journey, somewhat nostalgic, in which we'll get back into past time to rediscover pictorial references from the early twentieth century.
