A relentless blast bursts into a multitude of sounds, as some of the band's most fiery and searing melodies ricochet and converge amidst violin and double bass counterpoints. Field recordings and tumultuous semi-improvised passages frame these fervent epics. Two shorter, independent 6-minute pieces reveal a devastating, haunting, elegiac beauty. Poignant atmospheres, noisy orchestrations, drone, hypnotic crescendos, layered distorted sounds: the album encapsulates all the beloved facets of the band. Twenty-five years later, this new album is as vital, moving, relevant and relentless as it was on day one. G_d's Pee at State's End! was recorded and mixed in Montreal in October 2020 at the band's flagship studio, Thee Mighty Hotel2Tango, by Jace Lasek, the award-winning veteran indie producer (and co-founder of The Besnard Lakes) working with Godspeed for the first time.
