About benjamin benmoyal
Benjamin Benmoyal is a graduate of Central Saint Martins. After winning the LVMH Grand Prix Scholarship and working at Alexander McQueen and Hermès, he founded his brand in 2020.
Franco-Israeli, former commando-paratrooper, Benjamin Benmoyal wishes to recover his lost naivety. He creates clothes woven entirely from VHS tapes of his childhood cartoons.
After a long period of development, Benjamin Benmoyal is now able to create these fabrics industrially, using only recycled audio and video tapes. He is inspired for his silhouettes by the brutalist, utopian architecture and symbol of optimism, characteristic of the 1960s.
Blending craft and technology in this way, he has an approach he describes as "metamodern": one that is aware of the shortcomings of the post-modern world, but finds a certain poetry in it.
