Why does my pair of Paraboot have a white film?

No need to panic! Paraboot's sales manager, Fred Tersen, explains why this white film is sometimes found on their shoes and how to get rid of it.

Paraboot leather shoes are mostly semi-vegetably tanned. This means that they are 50% chrome tanned, and 50% vegetable tanned. Vegetable tanning involves soaking the hides in baths filled with tree bark, oak acorns, leaves, which will naturally nourish the leather. The natural fat will then be stored in the leather during this process.
Over time, this fat will freeze, it is a normal reaction of hot to cold. A thin white film will then form.

Good news: if your pair has this white film, it's a true sign of quality! It proves that the leather breathes well. This natural phenomenon can change depending on the thickness of the leather. How to get rid of this film? Simply run a hair dryer over your leather, without staying static. You can also lightly brush your shoe.
Finally, to make your shoe shine, you can pass a little elbow grease.
