The Études Homme Fall 2022 collection was inspired by Jean Michel Basquiat. The designer trio of Aurélien Arbet, Jérémie Egry and José Lamali were inspired by his hometown of New York while delving into their own archives to create a mature and fused collection for Études' 10th anniversary. The collection reinvents archival pieces with new inspiration from Basquiat.
This new Fall/Winter 2022 capsule chronicles the tawny hues and urgency of the gesture, emulating the haptic quality of its creations through a variety of techniques. Seventeen works are presented in all-over prints, knits, textured silkscreens, patches and embroideries evoking line drawing. Each piece in the capsule echoes Basquiat's own look: sophisticated tailoring, casual sportswear and strong accessories. The Études X Jean-Michel Basquiat collection is a tribute to the artist's iconoclastic and composite style. Once donned, the clothes take Basquiat's designs back to where it all began: the street.
