"Summer 08" is the new and fifth album of Metronomy. It was conceived as a follow-up to the album "Nights Out" released in 2008 and which launched the band's career, as a tribute to a period when leader Joseph Mount's life was quite different and his songwriting talents not as accomplished. No regressive or melancholic in "Summer 08", on the contrary. It is by Joseph Mount's own admission the missing link between "Nights Out" and "The English Riviera", the one he could make with 8 years of musical experience more. In any case the grooviest Metronomy album to date. We are both in familiar territory and exploring new horizons. Includes "Old Skool", "Night Owl" & "Back Together".
