We're always looking for new brands that will make the future fashion trend, so we decided to introduce you to the young sustainable footwear and apparel brand founded in 2013 by Pim Dresen.
The young designer's story begins on Mercer Street in New York City where Pim buys his first pair of shoes at the age of 10, a revelation that will make him passionate about fashion and more specifically sneakers. The name of the brand is taken from this significant episode in the life of the designer, the logo that accompanies it represents the map of Amsterdam, where Pim Dresen lives.
The brand offers us unisex pieces with products made in BSCI-certified Italian and Portuguese factories and focus on sustainability.The brand's main idea is to create distinct silhouettes, entirely designed in-house, from the sole to the laces, to create a unique look and feel with a sustainable touch using Leather-Working-Group certified, Global Recycled Standard certified, PETA certified and plant-based materials.
Mercer gained notoriety in 2017 for its collaborations with NASA, Beverly Hills Hotel, UCLA and Starter. In addition, Mercer was the first brand to collaborate with Piñatex to create the first fully sustainable vegan sneaker made from pineapple leather.
Mercer went on to create shoes made from Italian grapes, apples and mesh from plastic recovered from the ocean in collaboration with Seaqual.
