Falke was created in 1895 by Franz Falke-Rohen, a roofer, been used to knit during the winter months, who decides to open his factory of knitting. In 1902, his son Franz Junior, then manufacturer of umbrellas, takes over the reins of the company. During the next years, Falke gets bigger and acquires new sophisticated machines for the manufacturing of socks. In 1920 a new factory is created in Schmallenberg, and the head office of the company is still there today. Falke keeps prospering: in 1928 it counts already 800 employees ! But it is also this year that Franz Senior dies. In 1951 the third generation of Falke’s runs the company, and in 1990 it’s the fourth generation. Falke’s company remains a family business and gets bigger in Europe and Overseas. In 1958, Falke begins to produce, besides socks, fine thights. In the 70s until the 90s, the brand is also known by prestigious partnerships with Armani, Lagerfeld or Dior and continues to open many stores. Falke also diversifies in 2005, by proposing underwear and sports clothes. These products are fabricated with technical materials, and meet a great success. In 2015, Falke proposed a collection of sculpting and energizing products for men and women. Since 2012, it is in Serbia where are made Falke’s socks and tights. It’s been over 120 years now that the brand proposes us, season after season, innovative and always trendy products.
