In November 2018, Martin met a manufacturer in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. This family business run by a brother and sister holding a know-how for over a hundred years, makes leather harnesses, tool cases and nail pockets. Everything is made by hand or with machines as old as the company. Authentic, local and sustainable. It makes sense and it fits with his values. Alarmed by the development and impacts of fast-fashion, Martin has set himself a challenge: to highlight French know-how while rediscovering a sense of proportion in consumption. The objective is simple: to transmit a know-how, a history, a passion for craftsmanship in each piece. All this while promoting jobs, craftsmanship, beautiful products, beautiful materials, and taking care of those who surround us and what surrounds us. The brand then decided to work with two French workshops. The first one mentioned above is located in the heart of Paris in the 11th district. The second one in the southwest of France. This one is a family workshop located not far from Biarritz and run by two brothers from a historical leather goods family, a workshop in the heart of the Basque country that guarantees a quality recognized throughout the world and maintains a French know-how. The philosophy and mission of Valet de Pique is to offer us exceptional leather goods that will last over time, that will age well, that will have a patina, that will be maintained. Their pieces are entirely made in France by our workshops in Paris and Biarritz, guaranteeing a unique know-how. Each piece is handmade by these craftsmen, with heart and passion.
