The Cacharel story begins in 1958 when Jean Bousquet settles down in Paris, in the sixth floor of a Haussmann building, to launch a line of pants for women. He knows how to get noticed and 5 years later signs the front cover of the ELLE magazine with the now famous pink blouse shot by Peter Knapp.
