Description
These jeans are designed to replicate the unique characteristics of American-made jeans from the 1980s to the 1990s, before the United States began manufacturing jeans in other countries. In the 1980s, denim-weaving technology transitioned from shuttle looms to rapier and Sulzer looms, enabling the efficient production of wide denim fabric with uniform and consistent yarn spinning. During this transitional period, jeans became sturdier and more efficiently produced, maximizing the production process. The way pockets were attached and seams were sewn also changed during this time. Previously, pockets were sewn by hand using cotton thread, but with the introduction of automatic pocket-setter machines, pockets were stitched with robust polyester thread, resulting in a uniform pocket shape. The fabric woven with consistent yarn also had a flatter appearance compared to the previous fabrics, contributing to the distinctive look of jeans from this era. orslow 105W has successfully recreated the jeans from the 1990s, capturing the essence of that period.

About the brand

ORSLOW

Ichiro Nakatsu founded orSlow in Japan to slow fashion down. Inspired by American workwear, each piece is built to last: in-house fabrics, reimagined cuts, deep indigo hues. A tribute to slow time and craftsmanship — where Japanese precision meets the beauty of wear and imperfection.
