It was after the birth of her daughter, that Perrine discovered the stereotypical image of heroines portrayed in children’s books. Whilst boys were reading about knights and brave firemen, girls were stuck with the same stories of princesses waiting for Prince Charming and fairies in magical lands. Perrine wanted to empower girls from a young age to have realistic dreams and goals. She created her series of books ‘Les Mini Confettis’ to celebrate real-life heroines that range from artists, scientists and adventurers.
The first book in the collection, ‘Des rêves et des chemins’ is dedicated to Agnès Varda – an inspiring woman with multiple talents. Agnès Varda is an artist, director and photographer. Ahead of her time, her visionary spirit continues to inspire other women around the world. This collection of books offers children from 3-7 years old (but why not big kids, too?) the chance to learn, dream and feel inspired to achieve both big and small goals. This project is a way to empower children from a young age and invites an open dialogue between parent and child, creating an inclusive space to help cultivate and cherish childhood.
